Worthy Cause Wednesday
When Claire was just 8 years old, her world changed overnight when she was diagnosed with cancer. A carefree childhood turned into long hospital stays, painful treatments and unimaginable uncertainty. Heartbroken, her mom asked her to close her eyes and picture herself on a beach – walking along the shore, collecting seashells and holding onto hope. This image became her wish. ??
Soon, Claire left the hospital and boarded a plane bound for her wish destination: St. Thomas. On the island, she did exactly what she envisioned – ran along the shore, gathered seashells and made memories that will last a lifetime. ???????
This spring break, while many families are packing bags and heading on adventures, Claire’s wish reminds us that a wish for travel is more than a trip – it can be a turning point for a child with a critical illness, restoring hope, strength and joy when it’s needed most.
