Worthy Cause Wednesday
In 1982, a news story about the fledgling Make-A-Wish organization in Phoenix, Arizona sparked a movement here in San Diego. Jaime Tucker, a working mom in Tierrasanta, gathered friends in her living room with a goal of bringing hope to local children with critical illnesses. Just one year later—on December 21, 1983—Make-A-Wish San Diego was born, becoming the 33rd chapter of the national organization!
Our first official wish? A magical Disneyland trip for 4-year-old Emily. That first year, most wishes were for kids visiting San Diego— dreaming of the world-famous San Diego Zoo or SeaWorld! Today, we’ve granted over 5,600 wishes thanks to our incredible community. Here’s to 42 years of hope, strength, and joy!
For every referral I receive, I donate a portion of the Commission to Make A Wish Foundation. Tens of thousands of volunteers, donors, supporters, advance the Make-A-Wish vision to grant the wish of every child diagnosed with a critical illness.
It's easy to refer your friends, neighbors or family members who are considering making a move, or you can call/text me directly.
