Wish kid William inspires us this National Blood Donor Month. “My wish is a wish that keeps on giving,” William said. While fighting leukemia, William realized how vital blood donations are for children with critical illnesses. “He has needed dozens of units of blood and platelets,” said William’s mom, Janice. “He would be sick, very sick, without those transfusions.” For his wish, William was moved to give his community a blood drive as a thank you for all the support he received. In just one month, William’s wish rallied 1,000+ blood donations – enough to impact 3,000 lives! William was later honored as a torchbearer in a local parade for “being a light of hope in the community.” The ripple effect of William’s wish is long-lasting. “Hopefully, those who donate will keep on donating! William said.
