Wish kid Dominic
Dominic, who is blind due to a cancerous brain tumor, was overjoyed when his wish began. His wish involved various sensory experiences, such as music, sounds, objects to touch, and interactions with Star Wars characters from the 501st Legion in San Diego.

Despite his condition, Dominic is a brave and outgoing person. He had a dream of engaging in a lightsaber battle (without hurting anyone) and was able to act out a scene where he portrayed Luke Skywalker with the help of the 501st Legion. This special event had been planned by Make-A-Wish for more than a year, during which Dominic's family relocated from Las Vegas to San Diego to access treatment at St. Jude Children's Hospital. More than 40 friends, family members, volunteers, and community donors came together to make Dominic's wish come true. “I feel blessed to see him happy and in good spirits after everything we've been through.” Dominic’s Dad said.

On the second day of his wish, knowing his love for pirate adventures, a treasure hunt was arranged, featuring interactive pirate characters. Following the treasure hunt, Dominic enjoyed sensory beach activities like building sandcastles and playing with water toys. The day concluded with a bonfire and the delightful treat of S'mores. “It blew our expectations out of the water," Dominic’s dad said. “I feel blessed to see him happy and in good spirits after everything we’ve been through.”
