Ayden's mom, Veronica, shared, “Toy Story probably has kept the most special place because it was the first Disney movie he REALLY gravitated to. I think pretending that his toys could come alive and be his friends, really stuck with him this whole time.”
After years of waiting, a glimmer of hope finally shone upon Ayden's family. They received the long-awaited news that a suitable liver had been found. Ayden underwent a 12-hour surgery. Soon after the successful transplant, Make-A-Wish reached out to Ayden's family, igniting the spark of a dream come true – to meet the real-life versions of his cherished toy friends. “I remember being in the hospital watching Toy Story with him night after night, and then watching him play with all the figures as if they were his friends,” Ayden’s mother shared. “Disney World seemed like the best wish for so many reasons, but mainly because Toy Story in general played a huge role in Ayden’s journey.”
The anticipation leading up to his wish filled Ayden's heart with delight. His excitement bubbled over, and he couldn't help but proudly declare himself a wish kid to his teachers. The long-awaited day finally arrived, and as Ayden packed his suitcase, it overflowed with his loyal toy friends, eagerly awaiting their grand adventure together.
Despite the challenges his young life had presented, Ayden was able to enjoy and experience Disney World to its fullest. His newfound joy knew no bounds as he rode exhilarating roller coasters, met his beloved Toy Story companions in person, and explored every toy shop. Veronica's heart swelled with happiness as she witnessed Ayden's radiant smiles and heard his joyful exclamations, "Thank you, Ayden's liver, and thank you, Make-A-Wish."
